Open Position: Vice President of Product Development
A young fast paced computer accessories company located in Midtown Manhattan is seeking a Vice President of Product Development.
This is a role for an individual that can work in a fast growing environment.
• You must possess a strong work history in computer accessories that complement our product lines in iPod integrated, MAC, PC, and Netbook computer accessories.
• Have experience with manufacturers working with and building relationships with Asian suppliers.
• Be creative and savvy in sourcing and developing product lines from start to finish (ie. Raw concepts, packaging, trends, & design). Must be able to work effectively in a project setting with deadlines.
• Be able to negotiate pricing from components to products.
• Strong communication skills that allow you to effectively work with licensors, documentation houses, and testing labs, and 3rd party vendors.
• This position requires you to work independently and in a close knit team environment. Must be able to manage individuals in addition to delegating workloads.
• Must be able to prioritize, multi-task, schedule flexibility, and work under pressure with ease.
We are looking for someone with a minimum of 5 years experience. Must have experience in consumer & computer electronics. A degree in engineering, marketing, business management is valued.
You must be organized and posses strong communication skills verbally and written in English.
You have to be able to travel to 3 – 4x a year overseas (China, Taiwan, Hong Kong) & minimum National travel 1-2x a year for tradeshows and client meetings.
